The spirit of compassion and community came alive at AEON Mall Station 18, Ipoh, when Junior Chambers International (JCI) Ipoh organised the Life Saver Health Carnival 2.0, which brought together the community, healthcare professionals, corporate partners, volunteers and organisations for a two-day celebration of health and giving.
The objective for this event was to bring more health awareness and encourage the public to support blood donation drives. A healthy national blood bank supply requires a consistent baseline where voluntary donors make up 3.5% to 5% of the total population, meeting daily clinical demands safely.

Held on 12 and 13 September 2026, the carnival centred on a powerful message, which is that blood donation can save lives, while preventive healthcare can protect them. This health carnival had provided the public holistic coverage and knowledge about healthcare. The event was officiated by Simpang Pulai ADUN YB Wong Chai Yi.
The highlight of the programme was the Blood Donation Drive, encouraging members of the public to become “Life Savers” by giving the gift of blood to patients in need. Beyond blood donation, visitors were also given access to a range of free health services, including basic health screening by Hospital Seri Botani, dental check-ups by Goodwill Dental Ipoh, eye check-ups by Vista Eye Specialist Clinic and hearing tests by Pure Sound Enterprise.

The carnival further featured various health and community information booths covering insurance by YEG, will and trust planning by VL Legacy Solution, dementia care by Dementia Care Society, health and supplements by Smartrider Holding, and education by Quest International University, providing visitors with practical knowledge for healthier living and better future planning.
A series of Health talks was held and a variety of healthcare knowledge was shared. “Why donate blood?” by Dr Vincent Ng from Poliklinik HillCity, Dementia Care Sharing by Mr Calvin Chong, Nutrition talk by Miss Yeoh Chai Yen, Basic Life Support and CPR demo talk held by Bulan Sabit Merak Perak, Let’s Talk about Hernia by Dr Ooi Goon Keat (Hospital Seri Botani), Modern Cataract Surgery by Dr Koh Yi Ni (Vista Eye Specialist Clinic), Oral Health talk by Dr Thong Ming Hang (Goodwill Dental Ipoh).
The event also served as a platform for cross-sector collaboration, bringing together JCI Ipoh, healthcare providers, businesses, community organisations and volunteers with a shared commitment to public wellbeing.
A total of 136 packs of blood were donated from the community to the blood bank of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.
