Hospital Seri Botani adds three specialists to strengthen healthcare services in Ipoh

IPOH: Hospital Seri Botani has expanded its healthcare services with the appointment of three specialists to improve access to specialised treatment for patients in Ipoh and surrounding areas.
The three specialists are Dr Ng Jun Jiet (James), Consultant Urogynecologist; Dr Ho Kean Teng, Consultant General Paediatrician; and Dr Kan Wye Hon, Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Critical Care Specialist.
Hospital Seri Botani chief executive officer Dr Eric Yeoh Kok Ming said the appointments were aimed at making specialist services more accessible to the local community.
He said the arrival of the three specialists would also strengthen the hospital’s clinical capabilities, allowing more patients to receive specialised treatment closer to home.
“Dr Ng specialises in women’s pelvic floor health, urogynecology and reconstructive care, including the assessment and management of conditions involving the pelvic floor, bladder and reproductive health.
“Dr Ho provides specialist care for infants, children and adolescents, including the assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of paediatric conditions.
“Meanwhile, Dr Kan will strengthen the hospital’s capabilities in perioperative medicine, anaesthesia and critical care, including the management of patients undergoing surgery and those requiring higher-acuity medical monitoring,” he said.
Yeoh said the appointments were also part of the hospital’s efforts to develop a multidisciplinary specialist centre capable of addressing the healthcare needs of communities in Perak more comprehensively.
“This is not simply about increasing the number of specialists, but about building a stronger multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
“Through this approach, patients can access the appropriate expertise when needed, supported by the right clinical teams and hospital facilities,” he said.
Hospital Seri Botani said the expanded specialist services would also strengthen continuity of care, from specialist consultation, diagnosis and treatment to recovery and follow-up.
