PM Expresses Gratitude to Civil Servants

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin expressed his gratitude to all civil servants who have been directly and indirectly participating in managing the COVID-19 pandemic for more than a year. He stated so in a post via his official Facebook and Twitter pages yesterday (June 2).

He appreciates and welcomes the solidarity of civil servants who contributed to the country’s fight against COVID-19 through the deduction of Fixed Entertainment Allowance (ITK) and Fixed Public Service Allowance (ITKA) as announced by the Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, yesterday.

“The contributions of the civil servants, excluding frontliners and government employees of Grade 1 till 28, will be channeled into the COVID-19 Disaster Trust Account.

“This proves the unity among civil servants in shouldering the responsibility together with the government in fighting against the pandemic,” he said.

On the same development, he said that the solidarity was a reflection of the support of civil servants towards the hard work of the frontliners who have been working relentlessly in curbing and protecting us from the spread of the pandemic.

“I pray that all civil servants across the country, no matter what your role is in our fight against the COVID-19, will continue to be blessed by Allah SWT. May all of us and our country be protected from the threat of this pandemic,” he said.
