PCCCI proposes Ipoh back lane project to boost city’s economy

IPOH: The Ipoh Back Lane project is among the initiatives proposed by the Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) to stimulate local economic development.

The project will connect the back lanes behind shop lots from Concubine Lane to the Paloh 101 Building, spanning a distance of 1.2 kilometers.

The area is expected to become a major attraction for local entrepreneurs from various backgrounds to conduct night-time business activities.

This proposal was presented during a visit by the PCCCI delegation to the Mayor of Ipoh, Zamakhshari Hanipah.

The PCCCI was led by its President, YBhg. Dato’ Liew Chee Ming.

Also present were Deputy President David Tan Sin Cheng, Deputy Secretary-General Ir. Ong Kean Sing, Deputy Treasurer Clr Tang Cheng Weidan, and Head of the Economic Department Ir. Loh Ban Ho.

The visit aimed to strengthen strategic relations between the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and the Chinese business community in Perak, especially in driving local economic growth in Ipoh.

During the meeting, the PCCCI delegation shared insights and several constructive proposals to improve the investment climate.

These included facilitating business processes and supporting the implementation of sustainable, investor-friendly development initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Ipoh, in his remarks, welcomed the initiative and commitment expressed by the PCCCI.

He also affirmed MBI’s readiness to continue close collaboration with various industry sectors in order to empower the local economy.

Such efforts, he noted, will enhance the well-being and harmony of Ipoh’s residents, particularly in building a progressive and inclusive society.
