Today, the Junior Chamber International Ipoh (JCI) Ipoh held a tree-planting event at SJKC Guntong under its flagship environmental initiative “Plant to 1000,” successfully planting 45 trees within the school compound. This event is one of the key activities under the “Plant to 1000” program, aimed at promoting greener environments and raising environmental awareness in schools and communities.
In his speech, SJKC Guntong Principal Mr. How Choon Fah said that greening the school not only beautifies the environment but also helps create a healthier and more comfortable learning atmosphere, allowing students and teachers to grow in a better environment.


JCI Ipoh President Ms. Emily Wong Li Hwa shared the multiple benefits of tree planting and highlighted JCI Ipoh’s continuous commitment to environmental protection and green initiatives, striving to build a more sustainable community.
Guest of Honour Mrs. Shirley Chong praised the students’ active participation, stating that today’s efforts are not only for themselves but also for future generations of students, creating a more beautiful learning environment for SJKC Guntong. She also generously donated RM3,000 to the school to support its beautification and development, receiving warm applause from all attendees.
The event was carried out in a joyful and heartwarming atmosphere, with students, teachers, and guests working hand in hand to plant trees symbolizing hope and growth. JCI Ipoh expressed its sincere appreciation to SJKC Guntong for their enthusiastic participation and to all volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.
