MBI Denies Appointing Middleman to Handle Kiosk Applications

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has denied the involvement of any individual acting as a middleman in the management of kiosk rental applications on council-owned property.

This denial comes in response to a social media post claiming that an individual was offering intermediary services for kiosk applications, charging RM1,500 including the license.

According to MBI’s official statement, no authorization has been given to the individual in question to handle any matters related to kiosk rentals under MBI’s jurisdiction.

“This promotion is a form of false and misleading advertisement. MBI advises the public to remain cautious and not be easily deceived by such unauthorized offers,” the statement stressed.

MBI also emphasized that it will not be held responsible for any loss or damage suffered by parties involved in such dealings.

Public who are interested in applying for any kiosk or stall premises owned by MBI are advised to contact the Hawker Management Unit at the Department of Public Health and Municipal Services for accurate and legitimate information.

At the same time, MBI issued a warning that legal action will be taken against any party misusing MBI’s name, premises, or official capacity for the purpose of deception.
