IPOH: Pantai Hospital Ipoh, in collaboration with the Ipoh City Council (MBI), has launched the installation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Pusat Akuatik Tuanku Zara here.

This initiative is part of efforts to enhance public safety at the city’s key recreational and sports venues.

The installation of the AED is a noble initiative by Pantai Hospital Ipoh, supported by MBI, and has a significant impact on the community.

The availability of AEDs not only has the potential to save lives during sudden cardiac emergencies but also promotes cardiovascular health awareness among the public.

This effort aligns with MBI’s vision of making Ipoh a safe, healthy, and prosperous city.

The Pusat Akuatik Tuanku Zara was chosen as the first location for the AED installation as it is a prominent aquatic recreation landmark that is frequented by the public.

Two more AED units will be installed by the end of this year at the Badminton Arena and Perak Stadium, bringing the total to three units at strategic locations around Ipoh.

Earlier, the launch ceremony was officiated by an MBI council member representing the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Ahmad Hariri Kamarudin.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ipoh, Yow Huai Mim.
