SUNGAI SIPUT — The opening day of Perak Agrofest 2025 at Ladang Infoternak here was bustling with visitors from within and outside the state.
The four clusters organised by FAMA Perak, which are the food empire, agro-based industry (IMAT), floriculture and Madani agro sales (JAM), began attracting large crowds as early as 10 am.


Among the highlights were exhibition stalls showcasing pineapples, onions, fresh fish, and meat sold at attractive discounts. Visitors also had the chance to listen to briefings on crops and plants conducted by officers on duty.
Flowering plants and fruit saplings were also in demand, drawing gardening enthusiasts eager to expand their home gardens.
Held every two years, the large-scale agricultural carnival serves as a platform for agropreneurs, government agencies, the private sector, and the public to gather under one roof.


Muhammad Redzuan A’ Rashid, an Economic Affairs Assistant with the Sungai Tinggi Fishermen’s Association, said they offered fresh fish sourced directly from fishermen in Sungai Tinggi, Trong.
“We brought in fresh fish straight from the fishermen in Sungai Tinggi. For the three-day programme, we are offering a 30 per cent discount,” he said.
Entrepreneur Salina Aziz from Kuala Lumpur, who participated under the brand Perap Cedaap, said she offered a variety of dishes, including nasi udang cili, nasi ayam perap cili, nasi kambing perap, nasi daging perap, and nasi rusa perap.
Another exhibitor, Nur Arina Abd Aziz from Sitiawan, who has been producing her Popcorn Sedap brand for 11 years, said she intends to expand the product range with flavours such as chocolate and matcha.


Meanwhile, visitors expressed excitement and anticipation to explore all the clusters.
Siti Fatihah Farouk from Ipoh said this was her first time attending Agrofest, and she was eager to see what the event had to offer.
Fatimah Mohammed from Kamunting, who came by van with a group, said she was particularly interested in browsing the wide selection of saplings as she had taken up gardening after retiring as a teacher.
Mior Mohamad Alwi from Sungai Siput said he bought several essentials while also taking the opportunity to explore JAM for its attractive offers.
