TAPAH: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, has graciously sponsored lunch meals for 9,900 prison inmates across the state of Perak in conjunction with His Majesty’s 69th Birthday Celebration.
The meals, worth a total of RM118,800, featured a menu of nasi minyak (fragrant rice), ayam masak merah (spicy tomato chicken), dalca gravy, fruits, and a variety of other side dishes.

They were specially prepared for inmates at four prisons and three institutions under the supervision of the Mentor Prison in Perak.
Among the facilities involved were Tapah Prison, Taiping Prison, Kamunting Correctional Centre, and Batu Gajah Correctional Centre.
Institutions under the Mentor Prison’s supervision included the Chenderiang Correctional Centre, Kuala Kangsar Satellite Prison, and the Perak Halfway House.

The contribution for Tapah Prison was presented by Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja, Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin, who represented the Sultan.
The donation reflects Sultan Nazrin’s compassion and concern for the welfare of prison inmates, while also expressing His Majesty’s hope that those released will be able to begin a better, new chapter in life.
