“Pusaka Rasa Warisan” Buffet Elevates Traditional Flavours, Introduces Nasi Ayam Geprek

IPOH, Jan 28 — Hotel Casuarina@Meru has introduced its “Pusaka Rasa Warisan” Ramadan buffet, highlighting time-honoured traditional Malay recipes as the main highlights for breaking fast.

Running from Feb 20 to March 19, 2026, the buffet features more than 100 dishes daily. The spread includes nine main courses, a variety of soups, lamb and mutton selections, chicken rice, and an assortment of fried favourites such as prawn fritters.

Stealing the spotlight this year is Nasi Ayam Geprek, introduced as part of the hotel’s Ramadan buffet lineup. The dish is expected to be a major draw for guests who enjoy bold, spicy flavours.

Executive Chef Muhammad Fariz Abdul Lateh said the fiery sambal geprek is paired with fried quail and aromatic spiced fried chicken, creating a combination that is set to become a crowd favourite.

“A rotation menu concept will be implemented daily to ensure guests enjoy different dishes throughout Ramadan.

“Among the traditional highlights are Gulai Kawah Kambing, Kibas Panggang, Ayam Golek Pandan, Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin, Daging Dendeng Opah and Bubur Lambuk Tulang Kibas, all prepared using original ingredients and heritage cooking techniques,” he said.

 

The breaking-fast atmosphere will be further enlivened by village-style food stalls serving hot dishes such as Arabian Nasi Mandy, Ipoh Char Kuey Teow, and a variety of fritters and crispy fried snacks.

Dessert options feature traditional Malay kuih, including tapai pulut, kole kacang and limas, alongside a selection of modern sweet treats to complete the dining experience.

Guests will also be entertained by acoustic music and busker performances, creating a relaxed ambience throughout Ramadan evenings.

The buffet will be held at the Casuarina Convention Centre, which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests at one time. Facilities include an air-conditioned prayer room, spacious free parking and dedicated bays for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

The buffet is priced at RM90 for adults, RM86 for senior citizens and RM55 for children, while children below five dine for free. An early bird voucher promotion is also available at RM80 for the first 1,000 bookings.

In conjunction with Ramadan, Hotel Casuarina@Meru is also offering two 2D1N stay packages — Cahaya Ramadan and Kasih Ramadan — valid from Feb 20 to March 19, 2026.

The Kasih Ramadan package starts from RM358 per night, inclusive of sahur and iftar, for two persons. The Cahaya Ramadan package starts from RM210 per night, inclusive of sahur, for two persons.
