IPOH: The Ekspresi Aidilfitri 2026 programme has successfully enlivened the city while serving as a platform for the community to gather and celebrate cultural diversity.

Ipoh mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah said the programme also provided an opportunity for the community to showcase their talents and creativity, while fostering unity among the people.

He said the Ipoh City Council (MBI) hopes such initiatives will continue as an ongoing effort to strengthen community ties and promote Ipoh as a city rich in arts and culture.

“In addition, the sale of local handicrafts as well as traditional cultural performances and Gema Warisan Budaya were among the main attractions for visitors.

“The atmosphere throughout the programme was lively, with members of the public present with their families, further harmoniously enlivening the Aidilfitri celebration,” he said.

The programme, organised by MBI from 8 am to 1 pm, featured a variety of engaging activities that drew public attention and brought festive cheer to the city centre.

Among the highlights were a Hari Raya poster colouring contest for children aged six to 12, as well as a festive attire fashion show for teenagers aged 13 to 18, themed “Colour Creativity, Showcase Style”.

The programme also received cooperation from KMC Medical Centre and support from several related agencies to ensure its smooth implementation.
