IPOH: Public concerns, including issues involving road conditions, are consistently given due attention and raised with the relevant authorities for appropriate action, according to Jelapang assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian.
Cheah said the issue highlighted earlier by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic regarding the poor condition of Persiaran Rishah 4 in Taman Rishah has remained under his close attention.

He explained that the selection of roads for resurfacing is subject to technical assessments and to funding approval by the relevant authorities.
“Every road that has been technically identified as having reached the end of its service life or requiring maintenance will be submitted for funding consideration for resurfacing works.
“However, resurfacing can only proceed once the necessary allocation has been approved.
“As the elected representative, my role is to convey the complaints and requests of residents to the Ipoh City Council (MBI) for consideration, review and further action,” he said in response to the issue.

Earlier, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported that residents of Persiaran Rishah 4 in Taman Rishah, near Jelapang, have been facing poor road conditions for more than eight years.
A resident said the community is calling for comprehensive road repairs rather than temporary patchwork, arguing that such fixes deteriorate again after a short time.
The resident also claimed that representatives from the Jelapang assemblyman’s service centre had conducted a site visit, but no visible follow-up action or long-term, quality road improvement works have been carried out to date.
