IPOH: The Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre here will remain closed until Monday, August 17, as maintenance work on its water pumps has yet to be completed as originally scheduled.
The Ipoh City Council (MBI), in a statement, said the maintenance work began on July 31 and was initially expected to be completed by August 12.

However, due to ongoing maintenance, the closure has been extended to ensure all work is completed properly and the facility is safe and suitable for public use.
“Accordingly, the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre will remain closed until August 17 and is expected to resume normal operations from August 18.
“MBI apologises for any inconvenience caused and greatly appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the closure period.
“Any further developments regarding the operations of the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre will be announced through MBI’s official channels,” the statement said.
