IPOH: The Merdeka Fun Ride 2026 cycling event at Persiaran Bandaraya here was held in a lively atmosphere, attracting more than 700 participants.
The annual programme, organised by the Ipoh City Council (MBI), was held in conjunction with the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

The event served as a platform to foster patriotism and love for the country, while celebrating the harmony and diversity of the community.
Held from 8.30pm to 11pm, the event featured two cycling categories, namely the VIP Category and the Open Category.

In addition to the cycling activity, the evening was enlivened by singing and dance performances by the MBI Gema Warisan Budaya Group, as well as a special performance by guest artiste Iskandar Projector Band.
Participants also stood a chance to win various attractive prizes through a lucky draw, with total prizes worth RM5,000.

This year’s edition was further enhanced by the opening of a Pop-Up Market along Persiaran Bandaraya.
The market featured a variety of products, food and offerings from local entrepreneurs, adding to the festive atmosphere and creating a community-friendly celebration.
The initiative also provided an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to introduce and promote their products, while encouraging the community to support local businesses.
The Merdeka Fun Ride 2026 served as an excellent platform for city residents to come together, interact and strengthen community ties while expressing their patriotism and love for the country.
