MANJUNG – Approximately 5,000 participants from across the country took part in Manjung Run 2026 @ Lekir, held at the Permanent Farmers’ Market, Batu 10, Lekir.
The event was jointly organised by the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) and Vale Malaysia Minerals Sdn. Bhd., bringing together participants of various age groups.
The run began as early as 12.30am, featuring the 42-kilometre (km) category, followed by the 21km, 10km and 5km categories.
The flag-off was officiated by MPM president Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri and Vale Malaysia Minerals Sdn. Bhd. Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer Afzal Mohsin.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar’s Special Officer for the Pangkor state constituency, Datuk Haji Mohd Rafiq Mohd, and the Menteri Besar’s Special Officer for the Pasir Panjang state constituency, Yahaya Mat Nor.
The event was further enlivened by various activities, including aerobics, government agency exhibitions, Rahmah Sales, lucky draws and indoor games competitions.
Manjung Run 2026 not only promotes a healthy and active lifestyle but also serves as a platform to strengthen relationships among the local community.
MPM also expressed its appreciation to Vale Malaysia Minerals Sdn. Bhd., participants, volunteers and all parties involved in making the event a success.
The council hopes similar programmes can continue to be organised to strengthen strategic cooperation and foster a healthy lifestyle among the people of Manjung.
