IPOH: Faulty traffic lights along the busy Jalan Kuala Kangsar have raised road safety concerns, with no repair action reportedly taken despite the prolonged disruption.
Road user Muhd. Rosdi Azlan, 55, said he contacted Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic to highlight the issue, which he claimed had yet to be resolved by the relevant authorities.
He said Jalan Kuala Kangsar is one of the city’s busiest routes and that he uses it daily to commute to his office in Ipoh.
The traffic lights have been faulty for a long time, with only the amber light flashing, but they have yet to be repaired,” he said.
“This is worrying as vehicles have to enter the road and make U-turns in the area without properly functioning traffic lights,” he said.
He added that the situation could lead to accidents, recalling a near-miss involving a car crossing from the right while another vehicle was approaching from the left.
He hoped the relevant authorities would take immediate action to repair the traffic lights and prevent any untoward incidents.
