LENGGONG: More than 50,000 visitors and 500 international participants are expected to take part in Lenggong International Dialogue 2026 (LiD’26) from Nov 25 to 29, with more than 49 events planned to promote Lenggong as an international tourism destination.
The programme is organised by the Lenggong Tourism Council in collaboration with the Lenggong Geopark Management Body and the Perak state government, under the theme “Preserving Heritage, Sustaining Nature, Empowering Generations”.
Among the main attractions is the Lenggong Traditional Food Festival, which targets 20,000 visitors.
The festival will also feature a demonstration of preparing 5,000 servings of kabebe by 100 groups involving 400 participants, in an effort to set a record in the ASEAN Book of Records.
LiD’26 will also feature Lenggong Man 2026, involving 230 teams, including international participants from more than 10 countries.
The Lenggong Music Festival aims to bring together 500 musicians to perform simultaneously in an attempt to set an ASEAN record.
The Lenggong Valley International Cultural and Cross-Cultural Festival will also bring together participants from various countries through cultural performances, poetry recitals and cross-cultural dialogues.
Other programmes include the Sayangi Lenggong Nasyid Festival, featuring Singaporean groups Al Jawahir and Al Mizan, as well as ASEAN Youth LiD’26 Leaders and the Malaysia-Indonesia Young Leaders Symposium.
LiD’26 also plans to establish cooperation between Lenggong Geopark and Kaldera Toba in Indonesia, alongside a memorandum of understanding in the field of culture.
Dataran Lenggong will serve as the main venue, while several other events will be held at locations around Lenggong Geopark.
The organisers hope the programme will stimulate the local community’s economy, promote Lenggong’s heritage and strengthen international tourism networks.
