KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is offering 11,888 additional seats through its Electric Train Service (ETS) and EMUPlus services in conjunction with Deepavali 2026.

The initiative aims to meet increased travel demand from passengers returning to their hometowns or planning holidays with their families.

From November 5 to 9, KTMB will provide two additional ETS services daily for the Padang Besar–KL Sentral–Padang Besar route.

A total of 3,160 additional seats will be available on this route throughout the five-day operating period.

Meanwhile, 5,056 additional seats will be provided for the JB Sentral–KL Sentral–JB Sentral route through four additional ETS services daily from November 6 to 9.

KTMB is also offering 3,672 additional seats through its EMUPlus services on the Bandar Tasik Selatan–Ipoh–Klang route and vice versa on selected dates.

Tickets for the additional ETS services on the Padang Besar route and EMUPlus services will go on sale on October 27, starting at 12 noon.

However, tickets for the additional ETS services on the JB Sentral–KL Sentral–JB Sentral route have been available for purchase since September 7.

Passengers can purchase tickets through the KTMB Mobile application, KITS Style or the official KTMB website.

They are also encouraged to plan their journeys early.

KTMB advises passengers to arrive at stations 30 minutes before departure, as boarding gates will close five minutes before the train departs.
