Food Boxes for Families of Tapah Prison Staff

Some 400 families of Tapah Prison staff received food box contributions from Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc).

According to the chief of Strategic Corporate Communication for MB Inc, Siti Kamesah M. Hashim, the contribution is an initiative to aid in lessening the burden of those who were affected by stages of the Movement Control Order (MCO) enforced since March.

“In the duration of MCO, MB Inc targeted contributions for 10,000 families to lighten household spending due to COVID-19,” she told Ipoh Echo after handing food boxes over to the director of Tapah Prison, Assistant Commissioner Kamarulzaman Mamat yesterday (November 3).

“The families of prison staff are chosen this time. Apart from food boxes, face masks and sanitisers were also contributed, which have become a necessity today to prevent the infection of COVID-19,” she added.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar’s senior special officer, Mohd Hafez Mubin Mohd Salleh, Batang Padang District officer, Shahrul Affendi Baharudin and special officer for Tambun Member of Parliament, Vijaya Thaamarrai.

Kamarulzaman conveyed his gratitude to MB Inc for the contribution from Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

“These contributions are extremely meaningful to staff of Tapah Prison as they couldn’t be any more timely, given the latest situation in the country,” he expressed.
