Charity Drive to Aid Underprivileged by TF Value Mart

The pandemic hit the underprivileged just as hard as it is hitting everyone else. TF Value Mart came up with a way to assist them by organising a monthly donation drive. As part of the project, donation booths are set up at four of their outlets in Batu Gajah, Sungai Siput, Tambun and Botani.

According to the area manager, Cheah Bao Yih, giving back to the community is important. “In this short span of time, we have collected innumerable goods from our customers. People are willing to donate for a charitable cause with an open heart and you actually see the good in helping the community.”

For the month of April (as of April 30), some RM2500 worth of items were donated to Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1 Malaysia (PPPJ1M). Among the donated items were rice, noodles, sugar, cooking oil and milk.

The person in-charge of PPPJ1M, Heah Mee Mee expressed her appreciation for the community’s generosity. The home is currently accommodating some 35 occupants who are aged from 2 to 18.

“I only want the best for them, especially in receiving the right education to prepare them for the future,” she stressed.

A donation booth is set up at the payment counter of each participating TF Value Mart outlet. Next to it, there is also a donation box for money.

Donation in any form is welcome. Readers who would like to donate may transfer to CIMB account 800-504-3422 (Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1 Malaysia, Perak) or send the goods directly to the home.

PPPJ1M is located at No. 152, Jalan Dato Lau Pak Khuan, Taman Ipoh, 31400, Ipoh, Perak.
