Garbage Collection Services to be Rescheduled

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) and LTC Alam Bersih Sdn. Bhd. (LTC Alam Bersih) will reschedule garbage collection services around Ipoh.

Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the rescheduling is to facilitate resumption of garbage collection after it was stopped temporarily due to one of the workers having tested positive for COVID-19.

“We have rescheduled the garbage collection services from three times a week to twice a week from September 20 to ensure smoothness of operation and that problems related to garbage can be overcome.

“The MBI will also use 13 new open lorries (eight tonnes) to carry out garbage collection tasks until the problem is resolved. The new collection schedule will be officially announced to the public in the near future.

“To facilitate garbage collection and employee safety, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the public is advised to place domestic garbage into bins in an orderly manner.

“If there are any problems with garbage collection and cleaning, contact the MBI hotline at 05-255 1515 or Whatsapp 019-550 3083 for complaints,” he said.
