Park@Perak App Brings Convenience to Users

The Park@Perak app that was introduced by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) three years ago showed a positive increase in usage when it comes to payment of parking fees.

It recorded a total of RM3.23 million in fee collection, equivalent to a 3 percent increase compared to 2020.

The app can be downloaded from the Play Store, App Store and Huawei Gallery.

Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin said that this indicates Ipohites’ growing comfort when it comes to using online parking fee payments.

According to him, Park@Perak will completely replace coupons from 2024 onwards, in line with the city’s move towards becoming a Smart City by 2030.

“MBI is gradually phasing into complete digitalisation in terms of operations and parking fee payment through the Park@Perak app.

“Additionally, stickers for MBI vehicles such as those for VIP/Media/UTC, as well as monthly passes will be distributed digitally starting 2022,” he said.

He mentioned this during his speech at the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Full Board Meeting for the month of January 2022 in the MBI Meeting Hall.

Rumaizi also said that physical parking coupons will no longer be sold to agents starting June 1, 2022.

Even so, he assured that existing coupons can still be used within Ipoh until December 31, 2023.
