MBI Displays Tolerance Towards Parking Issue at HRPB

Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin stated that his party does not issue compounds freely, following the issue of a lack of parking spots at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB).

According to him, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) displays more tolerance while seeking for a solution.

According to him, the approach has already been implemented as the council understood the difficulty faced by visitors of HRPB.

“We do not issue fines freely, whether it is a peak period or not.

“However, it also depends on the situation. For example, if there are plenty of empty parking spots in the hospital and people still park outside, fines will be issued.

He said so during a media conference after the pre-launch ceremony of Mirror Lake Eco Park at Mirror Lake this morning.

The ceremony was completed by Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi.

Rumaizi explained that the MBI also offers a discount of 70% for individuals who have been issued compounds as a short-term solution.

“We will seek other solutions including ways to increase the number of parking spots,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nolee Ashilin mentioned that the issue has been highlighted and discussed during the Exco Meeting.

“Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad will soon make an announcement on the existing parking at the new building,” she said.
