Storm Victims at Simpang Pulai Receive Aid from MBI Cares

A total of 21 families from Simpang Pulai, whose homes were damaged by strong winds last week, received aid from the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin went on site and presented the aid in the form of cash assistance and food items to the families.

According to him, the aid provided was through the MBI Prihatin (MBI Cares) programme which is one of the corporate social responsibilities of the local authority.

“Today we also evaluated the damages to the residences as MBI is looking to repair the minor ones.

“Based on preliminary inspection, we expect the repair works to cost around RM10,000 overall.”

He said so after the presentation of aid to two damaged residences at Kampung Sengat and Kampung Baru Simpang Pulai.

Present were MBI Council Member for Zone 24, Clr. Azmi Murad Mohamad Yusof, MBI Council Member for Zone 23, Clr. Mohamad Annuar Baharudin and Chairperson of MCA Gopeng Division, Patrick Ewe.

Earlier, Azmi presented cash assistance and food items to 26 families in the area. 

The aid totalled RM7,000 overall.
