New MBI Compactor Garbage Trucks Follow European Standards

The addition of two new compactor garbage trucks will not only improve collection operations, but also improve the image of the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said this was because most of the existing compactor trucks are in poor condition and not efficient to operate.

“Currently, the MBI has 19 compactor trucks but our problem is that many are damaged and cannot move.

“So with these two new compactor trucks, we can improve the efficiency of our garbage collection operations and at the same time, improve the image of Ipoh City.

He said this after officiating the ceremony to launch the two new compactor garbage trucks

According to the mayor, the MCI is planning to add two more compactor garbage trucks, bringing the total to four. All of which will be received in stages, amounting to a total cost of about RM1.7 million.

Additionally, smaller lorries will also be added for use in garbage collection operations.

“These compactor vehicles follow European Standards and are of better quality compared to similar but cheaper models. This is because we often receive complaints of wastewater spillage, which causes a foul smell. This problem should be solved by using these new compactor trucks.
