33 Families Of RPT Chepor To Receive Aid

The Perak state government provided immediate assistance to ease the burden of the Chepor Structured Village Plan (RPT) flood victims at the Sri Klebang National School’s Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS).

The Kinta District Information Office said in a statement that a special monetary assistance of RM300 was given to 33 affected families. According to the statement, there have been 93 victims to date.

“This assistance was delivered by a representative from the Kinta District and Land Office.

“All victims were transferred to this PPS at 11.30pm, 4 October 2022,” said the statement.

The flash flood that occurred in RPT Chepor was caused by heavy rains that caused the Chepor River to overflow.

Various efforts have been made by the Kinta District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD) chaired by the Kinta District Officer, Meor Hezbullah Meor Abd Malik to deal with this issue.

Earlier, the Chairman of JPBD Kinta went down to the location as soon as he got information that the water level had started to rise. The early actions of various agencies under the JPBD have been able to reduce the risks posed by further disasters.
