Anwar Ibrahim, the 10th Prime Minister

The hope of the Tambun Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia has finally come true.

The appointment was approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today.

Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin in today’s statement said the appointment of the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan (PH) was in line with Article 40(2)(a) and Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution.

“His Majesty took into consideration the views of the Malay Rulers who attended the Special Meeting of Malay Rulers at the Istana Negara today, to make the best decision in the interest and well-being of the country and the people”, he said.

Anwar will be sworn in as Prime Minister at 5pm at Istana Negara today.
