The Nusantara Cultural Festival@Ipoh, which runs until December 13, has been able to introduce the city of Ipoh as one of the best domestic tourism destinations in Malaysia.

The mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the cultural festival was also able to form a sense of identity and cooperation through artistic activities among the multiracial community.

“Our desire to make Ipoh a centre for the development of art and culture in the archipelago can be implemented in line with the organisation of the Visit Ipoh Year 2023.

“This cultural festival is the right action to make it another new tourist attraction for the city of Ipoh besides giving opportunities to artists to promote their respective cultural products.

“The archipelago’s food sales carnival is also able to stimulate the economy of the state of Perak, especially from the aspect of the food industry. Likewise with the sale of various other products such as clothes and so on,” he said.

Chairman of the Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee, YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, officiated the 2022 Nusantara@Ipoh Cultural Festival at the Indera Mulia Stadium last Saturday.

The Nusantara Culture Festival’s cultural performance has the concept of dance and music representing each state. This cultural festival aims to encourage the younger generation to inherit the traditional culture of the Malaysian community.
