Art Workshop and Open Day @ Imperial International School Ipoh

Get hands-on experience to create your own art piece at the Art Workshop Open Day conducted by experienced IGCSE Art teacher, Ms. Rebecca Loke on Friday, March 10 from 10am to 2pm at the Level 6 of Imperial International School, Ipoh.

In this art workshop, you will learn the process of making batik, from applying liquid hot wax with various tools, applying dyes, and setting colour. You will be exposed to functional BATIK art usage as well as presentation in art form. At the end, you will take home your own personalized artwork.

Workshop Fee: 1 Artwork RM 30 / 2 Artwork RM 50

Suitable for adults and kids alike.

Upon registering participants will be provided with 1 unit of 30cm x30cm canvas frame, wax, canting, brush, and colour materials.

Come and discover:

  1. the process of traditional and modern wax-resist dyeing along with the basic principles of the craft.
  2. the history and importance of this UNESCO-recognised craft which is being incorporated in the Art & Design subject at school.
  3. the basic principles of batik art and go on a step-by-step guide in creating your very own work!

Instructor Profile

Madam Rebecca Loke has 20 years of teaching experience in the art industry and 6 years of experience in teaching IGCSE Arts and Design syllabus. She masters in oil painting, water colouring, print making, pencil hatching & art and craft for children.
