PUO hosts the India-Malaysia International Student Mobility Program

IPOH: Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) hosted the International Student Mobility Program from India to Malaysia which lasted for six days, from March 26 to April 1.

PUO in a statement today said that the main objective of the event is to improve students’ knowledge through experience-based learning methods.

In addition to providing exposure to the diversity of cultural, educational and ecological aspects of other countries as well as preparing them for career advancement in the future.

“A delegation consisting of three lecturers and 30 students from Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute and Francis Xavier Engineering College participated in this program under the leadership of Professor Dr K Balasubramian.

“While at PUO, the students have participated in various activities such as briefings on Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) programs in Malaysia.

“In addition they had visits to PUO’s academic laboratories such as the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Marine Engineering, knowledge sharing sessions with lecturers, as well as visits to interesting locations around Ipoh,”

The statement also said that students were also introduced to Malaysian culture through traditional games and cultural dance classes.

Meanwhile, the Closing Ceremony of the India-Malaysia International Student Mobility Program took place last Friday.

According to the statement, the average participant expressed their appreciation to the government for being willing to accept and organize this program as an effort to preserve the process of knowledge exchange as well as spark new cooperative relationships in TVET.

“This program is expected to give benefit to the participants and further enhance the relationship between India and Malaysia in the field of education and culture.

“PUO also hopes to continue this effort and implement more mobility programs like this in the future,”.
