IPOH- A total of RM10,000 was distributed to 30 single mothers to help alleviate expenses in the month of Ramadan.

The chairman of Heart & Craft, YM Raja Putra Shah said the donation was the result of the sale of paintings by the participants of the past Ilham Mataku Workshop ‘Expression from the Heart’.

“From the total amount, each of them received RM333.00 per person. I believe that even if the amount is small, it will be able to ease their expenses in continuing to survive in this month of Ramadan.

“The management will continue to sell the remaining paintings in Kuala Lumpur after Aidilfitri to meet the target of RM15,000.

“We are planning to hold the sale in an afternoon tea ceremony and fashion show that will be attended by the wealthy who have the potential to buy the painting.

“Raja Puan Muda Perak, DYAM Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah agreed to attend the event as a royal guest of honour,” he said during a recent interview.

According to him, DYAM Tunku Soraya suggested that the afternoon tea ceremony be held after Hari Raya and the date will be set by DYAM Tunku Soraya.

“The program that will be implemented later, can help single mothers from different perspectives and can generate a side economy for them.

“DYAM Tunku Soraya expresses her concern and always supports the organization of this kind of program to help improve the economy of single mothers,” he said.

Ilham Mataku Workshop Program ‘Expression from the Heart’ was the brainchild of YM Raja Putra Shah which took place on 11 February 2023 at Casuarina Hotel, Kuala Kangsar.

The inaugural program was carried out as an effort to create an online and offline platform for single mothers to explore, find, develop and showcase their artistic talents while having the opportunity to earn income through the skills of painting and handicrafts learned through strategic sponsorship.

The workshop, attended by 30 single mothers, was led by Art Case Gallery’s Chief Mentor, Curator and International Artist, Raja Azhar Idris, and lasted for a day.
