IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has taken stern action against the owners of premises at Lot No. 21 and 23, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, following a report published by the Ipoh Echo and Peraktastic portals two days ago.

According to an official statement from MBI, both property owners were issued orders under Section 75 of the Local Government Act 1976 on January 16, 2025.

They have been instructed to clear overgrown shrubs and weeds, as well as to carry out maintenance and repaint the building’s walls within four weeks.

“Should they fail to comply with the issued order, further legal action will be taken,” the statement added.

Previously, the area was a popular tourist attraction, especially among photography enthusiasts, drawn to the mural paintings adorning the building’s walls. This location often served as a backdrop for visitors capturing photos with the large and appealing mural.

However, the mural has now deteriorated, replaced by vandalism markings that have marred the original image of the area.
