IPOH:Notices have been issued by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) for vacant land within its jurisdiction that has outstanding assessment tax arrears.
This involves a total of 622 vacant land lots, with the amount of recovered arrears totaling RM178,420.
Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah said the council greatly appreciates all property owners who have shown commitment in settling their assessment tax arrears.
According to him, this commitment serves as motivation for all city residents to continue supporting sustainable urban development.
“For owners with outstanding payments and difficulties, they are encouraged to come and discuss with MBI to find a suitable payment method, so that no movable property will be seized later on.
“For those who have arrears, including those who have failed to comply with agreed installment plans, they are advised to settle the outstanding payments as soon as possible.
“I hope Ipoh residents will take their responsibilities as taxpayers more seriously, for the benefit and well-being of all,” he said.
He made these remarks while speaking at the April Full Council Meeting held at MBI’s headquarters this morning.
Meanwhile, MBI is also offering a 50% reduction in traffic compound rates in conjunction with the 37th Anniversary Celebration of Ipoh City.
Zamakhshari said the payment period for the reduced traffic compounds will last for one and a half months, from April 18 to May 31.
Payments can be made at MBI payment counters, via the council’s portal (D-MBI@IPOH), and through the Park@Perak mobile app.
