IPOH: The Perak Road Transport Department (JPJ) has conducted a special operation targeting foreign drivers to ensure compliance with road traffic laws and enhance road user safety.
During an operation conducted by the JPJ Ipoh Operations Unit, a motorcycle ridden by a foreign national was stopped and inspected.
Checks revealed that the rider had committed several offences, including not possessing a Competent Driving Licence (CDL), operating a vehicle with an expired road tax, and failing to have valid insurance coverage.

As a result, the motorcycle was seized and taken to the JPJ Ipoh Vehicle Seizure Depot.
Meanwhile, a similar integrated operation was conducted in Manjung, particularly around Gurney Town in Sitiawan.
Through undercover enforcement activities carried out by JPJ officers, one motorcycle and two motor lorries driven by foreign nationals were detected and seized.
Inspections found that the drivers had committed various offences, including driving without a valid licence, operating vehicles with expired licences, lacking insurance coverage, and several technical violations.

All the vehicles involved were seized and transported to the JPJ Seri Manjung Vehicle Seizure Depot.
During the same operation, the Lumut Immigration Department detained 13 foreign nationals believed to have committed offences under the Immigration Act.
Those detained comprised three Indonesian men and 10 Bangladeshi men.

In a statement, the Perak JPJ Enforcement Division stressed that it would continue to intensify enforcement operations throughout the state to ensure all road users comply with traffic laws.
The public is also encouraged to channel traffic-related complaints through JPJ’s official platforms to help strengthen enforcement efforts across the state.
