TELUK BATIK: The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) has introduced anti-monkey rubbish bins around the Teluk Batik recreational and beach area in a move to improve cleanliness and visitor comfort.
The initiative was implemented to address frequent disturbances caused by monkeys rummaging through rubbish bins in search of food waste.
It also aims to reduce littering and environmental pollution caused by scattered waste along the beach and recreational park areas.

MPM said the effort is essential to preserve the cleanliness and attractiveness of Teluk Batik, one of the main tourist destinations in the Manjung district.
The specially designed bins are equipped with secure lid mechanisms that are difficult for monkeys and other wild animals to open.
They are also designed to prevent access to food waste, ensuring rubbish is safely contained until collection takes place.

In addition, the use of anti-monkey bins helps reduce the risk of negative interactions between humans and wildlife.
The initiative also supports more systematic and efficient solid waste management in the recreational area.
MPM has urged the public to use the facilities responsibly to ensure that Teluk Batik remains clean, beautiful and safe for all visitors.
