TAPAH: Cases involving foreign nationals driving or riding vehicles while committing various traffic offences continue to raise concerns, particularly due to the potential risks they pose to other road users.
The situation could have serious consequences, especially in the event of an accident, while also reflecting a disregard for the country’s laws.

In the latest case, the Perak Road Transport Department (JPJ) Tapah Branch detained a van driven by a foreign national for two offences — driving without a licence and misusing the vehicle’s road tax.
“JPJ Perak remains committed to carrying out enforcement operations to ensure road safety and reduce the risk of accidents involving vehicles that fail to comply with road laws under the Road Transport Act 1987.
“The van driver detained was a foreign national who did not possess a valid Competent Driving Licence (CDL) and had also misused the Motor Vehicle Licence.
“The van was seized under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and taken to the JPJ Tapah Branch impound depot for further action,” it said.

Members of the public may channel traffic complaints to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my or through the e-Aduan@JPJ application, together with complete details of the complainant and the complaint.
