IPOH: Perak celebrated a major triumph by sweeping all the top prizes in the school category of the 2025 National Landscape Competition, held in conjunction with National Landscape Day.
Three national schools from the state emerged as champions, collectively taking home a total cash prize of RM10,000.
The overall winner in the school category was SK Methodist Parit Buntar, which received RM5,000, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation.
Second place went to SK Marian Convent, Ipoh, while SK Tanah Hitam, Chemor secured third place. They received RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively, along with trophies and certificates.
Perak’s success didn’t stop there. Kampung Baru Ayer Tawar in Sitiawan was crowned the winner in the New Village (Kampung Baru Cina) category, winning RM5,000, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation.
Kampung Changkat Keruing took third place in the same category, receiving RM2,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
The competition featured four main categories: schools, hotels and resorts, new villages (Kampung Baru Cina), and traditional villages (Kampung Tradisional).
Organised by the National Landscape Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the competition highlights the importance of landscaping as more than just aesthetic—it is the soul of sustainable cities, villages, and communities.
