IPOH: Halaman Goes Green Sungai Kinta, strategically located along the banks of Sungai Kinta, is one of the key green spaces within the city of Ipoh.
Developed by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) for the Kinta and Batang Padang districts, the initiative aims to rehabilitate and beautify Sungai Kinta.

Today, efforts to preserve the river continue through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme by Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK), in collaboration with local authorities and community stakeholders.
Among those involved are the Ipoh City Council (MBI), Perak JPS, Department of Environment (DOE), and Sekolah Kebangsaan St. Michael, Ipoh.
To support the programme, MBI contributed 100 saplings, which were planted around the Halaman Goes Green area to enhance its green landscape.

One of the key objectives of the initiative is to promote Halaman Goes Green Sungai Kinta as a new eco-tourism site, in line with Perak’s sustainable development agenda, Perak Bumi Lestari.
The partnership also fosters synergy between the private sector and government agencies in conserving water resources and protecting biodiversity.
