Perak Deaf Sports Association (PESDeaf) president, Mr. Lam Wai Hoong, conveyed his congratulations to the three Perak deaf athletes, namely Alinda Anastasia A/P Leo, 20 years old (Athletics event), Nurain Binti Khairul Azhar, 23 years old (Women’s futsal event) and Wan Amanina Binti Wan Nor Mohammed, 21 years old, who were among the representatives of the Malaysian National Athletes at the 2nd SEA Deaf Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, which took place from 20 to 26 August.


The 2nd SEA Deaf Games in Jakarta held 6 types of events, namely Athletics, Badminton, Tenpin Bowling, Men’s and Women’s Futsal, Table Tennis and Chess.
The Malaysian Deaf Contingent closed the 2025 SEA Deaf Games campaign at Jakarta in style, when it emerged as the overall champion after attaining a record of 25 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals and 11 Bronze Medals.


The Chef de Mission (CDM) of Malaysia, Mr. Sarkunan Balakrishnan, expressed his pride in the fighting spirit of the national athletes as well as the dedication of the coaches and officials who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
Malaysian Deaf Sports Association (MSDeaf) President, Dr. Ong Shin Ruenn, also conveyed his appreciation to all parties involved, including the support team and the athletes’ families, while calling for this achievement to be given the recognition it deserves.
