IPOH: Various types of drugs, including ketum, with an estimated total value of RM26.14 million from cases spanning 2012 to 2024 have been destroyed by the Perak Police.
This involved 5,483 investigation papers for cases that had completed court proceedings.
The cases involved arrests made by 15 District Police Headquarters (IPD), including Ipoh, Taiping, Manjung, Hilir Perak, Tapah, Kuala Kangsar, Batu Gajah, and Sungai Siput.


All the case items were destroyed through the company Clinco Waste Management Sdn. Bhd. located in the Tungzen Industrial Park area, Mukim Sungai Raia, Kampung Kepayang, here.
Also present was Perak Deputy Police Chief, DCP Mohamad Azlin Sadari.
Meanwhile, from January to August 24 this year, a total of 13,997 individuals were arrested by the Perak Police for drug-related offences.


Additionally, 1,918 individuals were detained for various drug trafficking offences, with 351 of them arrested under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment.
A total of 51 individuals were arrested under the Special Preventive Measures Act 1985.
Most of them were identified as the masterminds, planners, or financiers of syndicates that were dismantled in 2025.
