IPOH: Five locations in the city of Ipoh require attention from the relevant authorities due to issues with streetlights reportedly not functioning or not turning on.
According to the complainant, the absence of functioning streetlights in these areas poses a danger as the roads become dark at night.
They stated that the five affected locations are Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Bulatan Sultan Abdullah, Jalan C.M. Yusuff, Jalan Tokong, and Jalan Pasir Puteh.
“There are two LED streetlight units on Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun that are not working.
“Two LED streetlight units at Bulatan Sultan Abdullah are also not turning on.
“Three LED streetlight poles along Jalan Tokong are not functioning, and six HPSV streetlight poles on Jalan C.M. Yusuff are also not working.
“Meanwhile, a streetlight bulb has come off and has not been reinstalled on a lamp post in front of MGS School.
“There are also two HPSV streetlight units on Jalan Pasir Puteh that are not functioning. These two streetlight poles are located near the traffic light junction of Jalan Pasir Puteh/Jalan Yang Kalsom and Jalan C.M. Yusuff,” they told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
They urged the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to be more attentive and proactive regarding the maintenance of infrastructure in the city.
They added that it is hoped that repair work and inspections can be carried out regularly to prevent such issues from recurring in the future.
