MET Malaysia Issued Warning for Northeast Monsoon

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning that our country will officially enter the 2025/2026 Northeast Monsoon season on the 13th of this month, and the public is advised to prepare early for potential disasters.
According to the statement, during this period, 5 to 7 rounds of continuous heavy rainfall are expected across the country.
The statement adds that several days of heavy rain may cause flooding in riverbank and low-lying areas, while strong northeast winds could lead to high tide and sea level rise, especially along the East Coast.
The authorities urge the public to prepare in advance, stay updated on weather forecasts, and pay attention to the latest information, advice, updates, and warnings issued by the department.
