IPOH: The Amanita Squad of the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD Ipoh) has carried out a crime prevention awareness campaign in collaboration with the private sector and NGOs.

The programme involved visits to several strategic locations, including Ipoh Parade shopping mall, KPJ Ipoh Hospital, and the Raoofah Women and Children Specialist Centre in Silibin.

The visits were led by ASP Faten Dalina Zainal Abidin together with officers and administrative personnel from IPD Ipoh.

The objective was to strengthen community-based crime prevention efforts while enhancing cooperation with private organisations and NGOs.

At the same time, a similar mission was carried out by the Kampung Tawas Police Station through its High Profile Policing (HPP) Programme at several convenience stores in its area.

The programme aims to increase police presence in convenience store areas to create a safer environment and prevent crime opportunities.

The presence of officers also helps boost the confidence of business owners and customers.

The programme emphasises safety advice such as preventive measures, the use of CCTV, and safe practices when opening and closing premises.

Additionally, operators and workers were briefed on criminal modus operandi and the importance of reporting suspicious activities.

The initiative also strengthens the relationship between the police and the community, helps identify local safety issues, and provides information on emergency hotlines and immediate actions to take in the event of a crime.
