IPOH — The Dasar KASIH Keluarga Negara (DKKN) and Jelajah Sejahtera MADANI – Skim Insurans Kesejahteraan Rakyat (SIKR) were launched as a strategic step to strengthen family institutions.

The launch of the two initiatives also aims to enhance the well-being of the people.

The initiatives involve collaboration between the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department.

The collaboration reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring effective, inclusive and people-centred service delivery.

DKKN serves as a comprehensive social policy framework that recognises the family as the fundamental unit of social stability and national resilience.

The policy takes into account challenges arising from socioeconomic changes, demographic shifts, and the impact of digital transformation on society.

A family life-cycle approach is adopted, covering phases from pre-marriage and family formation to parenthood and senior citizen stages.

The implementation of DKKN will also be strengthened through the National Family Action Plan 2026–2030, involving various ministries, agencies, non-governmental organisations, the private sector and academics.

Earlier, the launch ceremony for the plan was officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia Sultan Azlan Shah in Ulu Kinta.

In his speech, he said DKKN was formulated in line with the government’s ongoing education reforms, including the decision to lower the school entry age to six.

He added that while the government aims to build a technologically competent generation skilled in artificial intelligence, Malaysia’s identity must continue to be built on the foundations of moral values, ethics and local culture.
