IPOH: Excitement was clearly visible on the faces of 40 orphans from Asrama Budi Mulia Nurul Huda in Chemor when they were allowed to choose their own Hari Raya outfits worth RM200 each through the Sinar Syawal 2026 programme.
The annual programme aims to help those in need prepare for Aidilfitri in a more meaningful way while ensuring they too can share in the festive spirit of Syawal.

Yayasan Perak corporate and public relations manager Nur Dalila Mastor said the programme is part of the foundation’s ongoing welfare initiatives carried out each year to assist underprivileged communities.
“The Sinar Syawal programme allows orphans and underprivileged families to prepare for Aidilfitri more meaningfully while allowing them to experience the joy of celebrating Syawal,” she said.

Through a strategic collaboration between Yayasan Perak and Jakel Ipoh, the children were taken shopping to select their own festive clothing according to their preferences, with each receiving RM200 in assistance.
The approach not only provides material support but also creates a meaningful experience for the children as they enjoy the excitement of choosing their own Hari Raya outfits like other children.
The programme was further enlivened by the presence of Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, wife of Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, who is also the chairperson of Yayasan Perak.

She also spent time interacting and engaging with the recipients during the programme.
According to Nur Dalila, although the contribution may be modest in value, it carries great meaning for those being celebrated.
She added that such initiatives will continue to be strengthened to assist more people in need.
