IPOH: Popular tourist destination Tasik Cermin continues to attract thousands of visitors daily, making safety aspects a top priority for operators and authorities.
In view of this, safety measures are being emphasised to ensure all recreational activities at the site are properly monitored and managed.

A key focus is the competency of on-ground personnel to respond effectively in the event of emergencies.
This was the main objective of a joint training session involving Tasik Cermin staff and the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) from Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station and Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station.

The training aimed to enhance the readiness and skills of personnel in handling emergency situations, particularly in water and forested environments.
During the session, participants underwent water rescue drills, basic life support training, and jungle trekking exercises involving Tasik Cermin staff.

The programme also placed strong emphasis on safety procedures and effective rescue techniques to ensure proper response during real-life emergencies.
Participants were exposed to various simulated emergency scenarios to test their ability to act under pressure.
In addition, the basic life support component strengthened skills in providing initial assistance to victims before the arrival of medical teams.

The jungle trekking exercise helped improve both physical endurance and mental resilience, particularly for operations in challenging terrain.
The collaboration between Tasik Cermin staff and the Fire and Rescue Department is seen as an important effort to strengthen coordination and communication during rescue operations.
