Intimacy in the Dementia World

By KT Leong

In the world of dementia, we talk about medication, safety, and care plans, but we almost never talk about the human need for intimacy.

This silence leaves partners, individuals living with dementia, and professionals completely lost. It leads to “behavioral” labels instead of understanding, and isolation instead of connection.

In the upcoming webinar on 29 May, from 9 am to 1 pm, “Intimacy & Dementia: Navigating the Unspoken,” provides a roadmap for these difficult conversations. We will move away from assumptions and toward practical, respectful ways to support the emotional and physical needs of those living with dementia.

The speaker will be gerontologist Dr. Cecilia Chan, with a fee of RM50 per participant. An E-Certificate will be provided and this is worth 4 CPD Points for nurses.

For further enquiries, contact Dr. Cecilia at 013-4384388, Ms. Jess at 011-59912421 or Ms. Low at 012-2767305.
