IPOH: A total of 230 higher education students from the Tambun parliamentary constituency have received a financial boost through the MADANI Education Assistance Programme 2026, involving a total allocation of RM178,000.

The programme was implemented as part of ongoing efforts by the Tambun parliamentary service centre to ease the financial burden of students and their families, particularly amid rising education and living costs throughout their studies at public and private higher learning institutions (IPTA/IPTS).

Under the assistance scheme, diploma students received RM500 each, while bachelor’s degree students were given RM1,000 each to help cover learning needs, accommodation, transportation and basic study-related expenses.

A symbolic handover of aid to 10 students was officiated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in conjunction with the launch of the PADURI MADANI scheme held at the Bandar Baru Tambun Multipurpose Hall.

Meanwhile, the remaining 220 students received their allocations in a separate presentation ceremony held at Mydin Meru Raya, officiated by Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri on the same day.

The education assistance initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Tambun parliamentary constituency in prioritising education development and human capital formation, particularly among youth who are expected to become key national assets in the future.

Beyond easing financial pressure on families, the initiative is also expected to boost students’ motivation to focus on their studies and achieve academic excellence in their respective fields.

The MADANI Education Assistance Programme is in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision, which emphasises public wellbeing, human development, quality education and fair opportunities for all, regardless of background.

The Tambun Community Service Centre has pledged to continue strengthening various welfare and education initiatives to ensure students in the area receive adequate support in pursuing their studies and building a better future.
