BATU GAJAH, June 15 — Stray animal issues continue to affect communities, particularly in residential areas, and in some cases pose safety risks to the public.
In response, the Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG) organised the Stray Animal Management Campaign 2026 at the Playground, BG Perdana 8 Road, Taman Batu Gajah Perdana.
The programme was officiated by Batu Gajah Member of Parliament V. Sivakumar and was also attended by Tronoh state assemblyman Steven Tiw Tee Siang.

The campaign aims to raise public awareness on the importance of responsible pet ownership and encourage community participation in addressing stray animal issues within the MDBG administrative area.
A variety of activities were carried out, including counters for dog licence applications and renewals, providing convenience for residents.

In addition, exhibitions by relevant agencies were held to provide exposure to animal management and welfare practices.
Visitors also had the opportunity to attend information-sharing sessions on responsible and ethical pet care.
The programme received positive feedback from members of the public who attended throughout its duration.

In a statement, MDBG said continuous efforts in collaboration with relevant agencies are crucial to ensuring stray animal issues are addressed more effectively.
The campaign is hoped to foster a cleaner, safer and more harmonious environment for the well-being of the Batu Gajah community.
