PANGKOR – The slope repair and road shoulder rehabilitation project at several key routes on Pangkor Island is showing highly encouraging progress.
According to the June 2026 progress report, the project’s physical completion has reached 19 percent, exceeding the scheduled target of nine percent.
This achievement places the project 10 percent ahead of schedule, equivalent to 24 days in advance of the planned timeline.

Earlier, the Director of the Perak Public Works Department (JKR), Ir. Hj. Zamri Mat Kasim, conducted a working visit to the project site.
During the visit, he inspected three slope repair locations where construction works are being actively carried out by the appointed contractor.
The visit was also attended by the District Engineer, Ir. Jibeh Gonolon, the JKR Manjung District project supervision team, and representatives from Empayar Indera Sdn. Bhd.

During the inspection, Ir. Hj. Zamri reminded the contractor to maintain the current pace of work to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He also stressed that traffic management and on-site safety must remain top priorities throughout the construction period.
This is because the affected roads continue to be actively used by the public while the project is being carried out.
